Measuring

Perhaps surprisingly we often don’t measure the effect of projects and compare them to the outcomes that were anticipated at the time of designing and approving the project. As sustainability and ESG reporting requirements gain traction among investors and regulators, financial institutions are increasingly requiring better monitoring and reporting. A robust approach to measurement including key metrics such as carbon emissions, use of renewable energy and social impact is essential to successful project delivery.

This section covers project measurement via the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) framework and introduces a system to measure the wider non-energy impacts of projects.
